Oil painting of a fallen tree in a dark forest, sunlight breaking through bare branches in a warm golden glow.

01

Kindness

Oil on Canvas, 48" x 36"

An act of kindness can often bring sunshine through our most dense troubles. The dramatic fallen tree and darkness mimic real life. Friendship and love are often the only light that can shine through.

The world and all our fellow human beings need more kindness. Be kind to someone today!

Oil painting of a great blue heron standing among cypress trees on a swamp shoreline, under a swirling blue sky.

02

Mr. Majestic

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas, 30" x 24"

Inspired by three different photos — the trees and the log from a Louisiana marsh, and the blue heron from a photo taken just outside of Austin, Texas on Brushy Creek while fishing with my son and a lifelong friend.

The blue heron has always been my favorite bird, and I consider it a privilege to paint this one.

Oil painting of the Callanish Standing Stones in Scotland, tall weathered monoliths rising from green moorland under a stormy sky.

03

Standing Stones of Scotland

Oil on Canvas, 42" x 32" Framed

The Callanish Standing Stones — the "Stonehenge of the North" — on the Isle of Lewis, near the town of Callanish. Said to pre-date Stonehenge by 2,000 years. Who, what, why — no one really knows.

Having lived in Scotland as a pre-teen, things like this always intrigued me. While searching for things to paint from Scotland, I came across this scene and decided to paint it.

Oil painting collage of a cypress swamp spanning six canvases, a heron wading among ancient trees in green-blue water.

04

Swamp Fever

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas, 66" x 24" (6 canvases)

A collaboration of photos and memories — wade fishing, riding in a flat-bottom boat, or standing in an alligator track comparing the size of his footprint to mine. There was a fishing pole in my hand and a fish on the stringer that wouldn't make it past the dinner table that night.

The sights, sounds, and smells never go away. The desire to be in a place like this never leaves... it's a fever.

Oil painting of a small red beach shack on stilts at sunset, palm trees and a driftwood campfire on the sand below.

05

The Love Shack

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas, 11" x 15"

The "Love" Shack! What else needs to be said?
